Cyprus October 2025

October 30, 2025  •  Leave a Comment

October has been great, and we still have Halloween to go. Life seems back to normal and people have returned after the summer.  The weather is just perfect, 27 degrees mainly . We've had shoots, exhibitions, and of course Geekfest. And a Zelda night, but there are no photos of that. :)

So this month starts with Neige, a dancer from Pera, in her third year.  I have always wanted to work with her, and we met quite some time ago, maybe a couple of years. She's an amazing person, talented, with great energy, and has her own personal outlook on things.  She has a very unique look that I think sits well with the "In The Landscape" series. On the day Neige had playful spirit and basically did mini-dance performances and I did my best to keep up with her.

I am only sharing some black and white version for the moment except for the image below, which is to represent Neige's playful spirit on the day.  Find her on instagram @navailfu

Next up a book club that meets at Rustem Kitap Evi.  I happened to be passing.  The organiser is the author I metioned last month, @berfin__boztemir Good to see young people talking books. @okurlar_kulubu_

Next up is DJ Slimsauce and Sly, his manager, and podcaster.  I met them for coffee and a test shoot and then we got together with friends of his for a fun shoot.  We also went to Tecknoport Together which is a very well run dance night that is respectful of Photographers, who are there after all to promote the night.

Thanks to Sly for communicating well.  Find all of the Tecknoport photos here

Next up is Iolander, who you will recognise from previous blogs.  She worked for an entertainment company all summer after graduating at Pera.  Two days before leaving she got in touch with a hair idea, and we shot on the morning of her leaving.  Such a wonderful girl, fully confifent now in herself and her place in the world.  I wish her all the best, and hope she returns (she said she might).

Next up is a family portrait of my famiy friends from Denmark.  I was meeting some of them for the first time, but I know the men of the family from my time in London.  Anyway was so nice to see them.  Yogan, the guy in the middle, knew me as a teenager.

Next up is Unique Exhibition by Elvira Pushkareva - Painting International Law: Business and Human Rights at Rustem Kitap Evi.

Photos from the open night on the 18th. Find out more on Instagram
Thanks to Elvira and her lovely family, who talked to me one by one. They came from Russia, America, and London to be there for the exhibition, and her daughter and friend performed. Find the full album here.

Thanks to Sarvanaz for inviting me.

Next up is an Arucad exhibition at The Art Rooms in Kyrenia.  I didn't really get into taking pictures as it was well covered.  But I ran into my good friend Sonson and did some street portraits.  It was nice to see her again, she looked amazing in a leather jacket with her hair back.

And onto Geekfest.  I took 3 days of photos, and it was a great event as always.  The sun was a bit heavy in general, but we found ways around it.  I met old friends and new.  First up is the amazing @cosplaymila who I have become friends with over the years.  She is so lovely, like a mother to the other cosplayers, helping everyone with their costume and make up.  Link to all the photos GeekFest2025

Anyway I gave her a print left over from my exhibition last year.  She loved it and took it home with her to Istanbul.  With all the other luggage she had getting the print home wasn't easy, so I feel honoured she didn't give it away or sell it.

A different costume

Also met some relatively new cosplayers from Turkey that where absolutely lovely.  Find them on my instagram.

Some portraits

Last photo is of someone working as a tattoo artist, hope to work with her soon.  She has very natural energy.

So I mentioned Sonson above, after bumping into her and getting the street portraits, we made a plan to shoot with her mother, but she brought her sister too.  Sonson and I stared in a short film together for a mutual friend Josh but we met briefly at the Diverse It festival last year.  I repect her as an artist and have been wanting to do something with her for a while.  So on the family shoot day, we made time for a theme I have had in mind for a while.  Anyway it was a joy to have mother and daughters visit me and do these photos together.  First with the family and sister shots.  It was so heart warming to see the love.

And finally the lovely Sonson.  Only sharing some BW photos for now.  Will eventually upload the full set, and colour version too. I would have loved to do more but was mindful of the famly waiting.  Hopefully we have started the ball rolling and will work together again. Find her on Instagram.

I think she has an ethereal beauty.. Thanks for reading.  Full album here.
