We have several dance and performance courses in Cyprus that are internationally recognised. Pera School of Performing Arts is one. Many of my project shoots are with dancers from Pera.
One of the things dancers sometimes need are photos for submissions. Basically they send off project ideas with a concept and some photos.
I popped along at lunch time this week and met up with my friend Neige who I have shot live and project stuff with. She was with another girl, who I embarrassingly didn’t get the name of. They are submitting an idea together. I got the words, soft protest as inspiration, and away we went.
They keep them very busy and occupied at Pera. Its so interesting just being there. I arrived to the back and heard lots of shouting from a rehearsal. There were many dancers about and I couldn’t see Neige so waited at the front. There is a pool on campus and a gym, and many comings and goings..
Here with the best shots, you can find more in the monthly album linked at the end.
I especially enjoyed the conversations at the cafe after where Neige got me a coffee. I took a photo of some people we talked with. Dancers are a different breed, and are comfortable squatting, on the floor or on chairs. :)

Double squat, I love it. More in the monthly album
