As I write, I have packed my bags, cleaned the flat, got a haircut and am now getting my camera stuff together, for my trip to the UK. I return to Cyprus on November 23rd. Documentation has been a pain, so despite being double vaccinated, because we cannot prove it with accepted paperwork, we will have to self isolate for five days in England. Despite that I've had a great month. Covid wise all restrictions for the public are ended (but we are still using masks). No more curfew! So the story starts with David People, a new coffee shop just downstairs from the flat. Weird name I know. I got friendly with the staff and decided to do a little instagram post. They do great cold coffee and some decent sandwiches and cakes. Service is very good. Find them on Instagram here

Next up is my friend Orhan, who runs the Aroma Cafe if you remember. He is actually a Film Maker and Writer, and has recently published a book in Turkish called (translated) The Neighbours. Here he is holding his book.

Next up is with Bihter Ikiz performing downstairs again. I invited everyone over, and this time they all came. Orhan bought the family and Elias and Naci came along too. It was one of the those suprise nights that pop up now and then that was just great.

Later that week, Bihter got engaged! Fantastic news. I actually popped to their house for dinner a couple of Sundays ago to celebrate with them, but I didn't take any pictures. Lovely food, lovely company, and good weather on the balcony. Bliss.

One of the staff at the coffee shop downstairs wanted to do a shoot once she realised I was a proffesional. She's a lovely girl called Nigi and she used to be a actress and model back in her home country. We got together one afternoon and this is the result.

Next up was a great exhibition by Pembe Gaziler Pembe Gaziler called TOPRAK YASAM KADIN (loosely translated as, woman living in earth).
It was very well attended, great food, and a feeling of professionalism all round. I met Pembe first a couple of years ago at a tango class.
Hung out with Naci and Elias, plus their german friends Frans and Family who you might recognise if you read this blog. This time they came with their younger son. Was great to see them. Also made a new friend with an old friend of Naci, who loves photos. She was in Cyprus meeting for a new job. She used to be in Cyprus but has been in Turkey for the last few years, but will be returning by the end of the year. She is really good fun, lots of positive energy. After the exhibition there was dinner and Sangria. A boy came up with jasmine flowers on string and we got one as they smell lovely. He was a about ten this child, and he had a portable card machine! We actually went out two nights in a row (dinner then latin music) which you should be able to follow in the pictures. Anyway great to meet her. Also on the second night an old friend of Naci who I met once also came out. Nice to see him. He is now in Lefkosa working as a nurse.

Next up is a cool bakery in Catalkoy, called The Food Lodge, which is basically an artisan bakery. Its one of the few places you can get sausage rolls and jam donuts. Really lovely staff, and a great veranda as well as a shelf for books, take and leave as you please. Love the girl with the long hair! The owner is the blonde lady below, originally German.

Orhan came to meet us and then we went to Aroma to meet Orhan's Sister in law. The whole family was there which was lovely.
