As I write there is finally some movement with the whole Iranian crisis, and although nothing is certain, many of my Iranian friends are celebrating today.
Right at the start of the month I returned to Magusa to do a night shoot with Shawdi. I had this idea for a long time because of my standard colourful background headshots. That background blur is down to two things, Aperture, but more importantly, minimum focus distance. But you don't need to know all that. Enjoy the pictures.

These black and white onces didn't quite fit anywhere (we did them just inside by her front door) and it was getting cold by the time we got to the jumper pictures so there are only a few.

Thanks to Shawdi and Cash for hosting us again, and thanks to Mo for coming along and helping with lights. Final shot is behind the scenes. The cat wasn't that impressed once we started shooting.

Next up is my friend Elif, who has opened a perfume shop in central Girne called Casia. They had an Italian brand party and I covered the photos. Lots of fun.
So on Valentines day, a day I choose to forget about most years, I got a call from Koko, and we did some pictures in red. She made some candles which I printed the labels for, and then she changed into evening clothes for a couple of photos and eventually dropped her at an event for the evening. She sold all her candles.

The following week we met up again, she needed a bit of help getting to a wedding. I took the camera along and hung out for a couple of hours. Some shots of Koko first we took by the road, then the wedding. Was fun to be a witness. Bumped into Gift too, wearing sunglasses below. Talked to some very nice people and was served food and drinks too. Thank you Koko and Natasha. Incidently it is their shoes in the photo.

Saw this in the foyer on the way out.
Finally I hung out one Sunday with Mo and Sharz, my Iranian friends in Girne. Mo wanted to go out to a big field to shoot, and I documented and got a couple of my own shots. It was really nice to be outside and a clear day, and the lemon flowers were in bloom. Aparently you can eat them and they taste of lemons.
Thanks for reading. Big love to you all. Full album HERE
