Cyprus June Part 2 2023

So onto part 2, starting off with Studio Sarp Dance who provided dancers for a private event, all costumes by the founder Seren. It was a fun night and it is where I made another great connection this month, but more about that later.

We met up at Mountain View Hotel in Girne and some time was spent going over the routine. There was another driver along called Deniz, who I got on well with immediately. She is pictured below (blue eyes).

We then moved onto Maldive Homes where the private party was, and we had an apartment to change in.

Later that week I met up with my friend Mel for her birthday with her brother. She is back in Turkey for a while.

So that great connection I made was with Deniz, who it turns out is a musician, composer and teacher. She was playing in a music night on the friday at Rustem and I met some of her art collective friends and many dancers from Pera came along. Incidently I bumped into the drummer from the Kinar earlier in the month.

Deniz performed beautifully with two original songs and then a freestyle session nearer the end. Full album here

So next up is Arty, a cosplayer from the greek side that I have met once and chatted to online a few times. Arty cosplayed Misa Amane from Deathnote. Thanks to Finn for help with the lights. Thanks for being ontime too. Full set here

Next up is a meeting with Art Generation to discuss possible workshops with Deniz, who will be teaching music. They are having a big opening next month with dance, virtual reality, and music. Her friend turned up too.

Next up is a bi communial business fair with CPDC It was a fun event and encourages me for the future. Nice to see the interns again.

So now onto days out with Deniz. We hung out with Jassi and even picked up her friend from the airport but more about that next month. We did a couple of roadtrips and made time for some formal photoshoots to. She is a wonderfully creative girl and I wish her every success with Art Genration , some of the members pictured below. The family is a very cool Cypriot couple we met heavily into the arts. Lovely people.
