It has been an interesting month photographically, although no formal shoots. Socially its been pretty good too. There was an engagement, a music night, a salsa night and I joined a gym my cousin goes to and took some photos for their instagram, and after meeting everyone decided to join as well. I have been on the 16/8 fasting diet for months and plataued in loosing 5 kg so a bit of gym is called for. Its a new place called TonxGym and everything is new and shiney.
So the photos start with some cats. Naci and Elias look after around 30 cats. Cats and dogs in Cyprus are different to the UK. Many live on the street and have been abandoned at some point or another. Elias and Naci live in quite a wild area out of town, so these cats came to them over time. Elias is like a mini vet and manages many seperate diets and care.
There are hundreds of photos this month, to see them all follow this link, also it is linked at the very bottom of the page.

Next up is the engement. This is another grown up cousin. It was a small affair on a rooftop by the mountains. Lovely girl and fun event once it got going.

Next up was a suprise night in LefKosa. We met up in the day and ended up taking a Pakistani friend of Naci's back home to Lefkosa.
We were wandering through the old town which was completely empty, when we heard some dub music in the distance. Following the sound we found one shop open and chatted to the owner as is common in Cyprus. He told us there was a cafe up the side road and we turned a corner to a street scene with a small band in the road. Had a great time there and even got a little drunk. There were creative types hanging out that seemed to know each other but I shook off any shyness and started asking people for portraits. The place is called Hoi Polloi and is run by a half Turkish Cypriot / half English guy called Simon and his wife. Lovely guy and great service, and they even had Ziviania, which is why i got a bit merry. He is the tall blonde guy below.

Next up is Tonx Gym
My other cousin works there and is quite a good motivational instructor. That is him in the first photo. Handsome lad. Its funny, I hadn't been to Cyprus for 15 years and when I arrived in March 2018 I had all these grown up cousins I had never met. This is the engagement girl's brother.
I actually went back to the gym for photos three times to get all these shots.

One night we went for Indian food after the gym and I made a new friend. The girl pictured worked in England for 4 years so it was nice to chat to someone in good English. She actually does salsa dancing and invited us all to a regular night over in Lapta at Bar O Monte.
Some of the dancers were amazing.

Salsa Night happens every Wednesday and the band is fantastic. I recognised a good version of a song from the Buena Vista Social Club album. Manged to get a group shot of the band too. They are called The latin Stars of Cyprus.

Now its time for some thunder shots. November marked the first day of wearing trousers since May. Even with the thunder storms it was still warm enough for shorts until the middle of the month, which is marked by the last photo.

And finally I decided to try and catch a salsa class for better photos, but it wasn't the same as the live dancing, so I took a few shots for the venue.
